1. Who we are and how this agreement works
Selan Studio ("we", "us") is a video editing studio run by Estanislao Duhalde from Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can reach us at lao@selanstudio.com.
These terms apply to every project we do for you ("you", the client). Together with the quote we send you, they are our whole agreement. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins. You accept these terms when you confirm a quote in writing or pay our first invoice.
2. What we do
We watch your long recordings (podcasts, interviews, streams, talks, webinars), choose the moments that fit your criteria and your goal, and edit them into short clips ready to post. We do not post on your accounts or manage your social media.
3. Prices and quotes
- We price per clip, by turnaround and length. Our usual rates for clips up to 65 seconds are USD 40 (72 hours) and USD 45 (48 hours). Longer clips, several raw camera files, a second caption language and other extras cost more. Your quote sets the price for your project.
- Turnarounds shorter than 48 hours, or deliveries on a specific date, Saturday or Sunday, are quoted separately.
- Brand setup, once per brand: USD 200 for a first order under 12 clips, USD 100 for 12 to 19 clips, included from 20 clips. Using one of our three base styles has no setup fee. A new style round later, to change the look of your clips, starts at USD 100.
- Feature program: if you let us show your clips on our website, social media and sales emails, you get 10% off your first three orders or months. It adds to volume pricing. See section 11.
4. Payment
- Monthly plans are paid in advance. In your first month you pay half when we start and half at the end of the month; from the second month, the full amount at the start of each month.
- We invoice in US dollars. You pay by bank transfer (ACH or wire) to the account on the invoice. Bank fees on your side are yours.
- If a payment is late, we may pause work until it arrives. Paused time does not count toward turnaround.
5. Turnaround
- The clock starts when we receive your footage, not when you fill in a form or pay.
- It runs 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, and stops on Saturdays and Sundays. Footage received at or after 7:00 pm New York time (ET) starts counting the next business morning.
- Examples: footage sent on a Saturday with 48-hour turnaround is due on Tuesday; on a Sunday with 24-hour turnaround, on Monday.
- The turnaround applies to the first delivery. Each round of changes gets the same turnaround again (a 72-hour order gets 72 hours for each round of changes).
- If we are late through our own fault, you get a discount on that clip: 10% if it arrives one business day late, 20% if two, and 25% if three or more.
6. Your footage
- You confirm that you own or have the rights to everything you send us, and that everyone who appears in it agreed to be recorded and published.
- We may decline footage or moments that are illegal, hateful, or that we believe would expose either of us to legal claims.
- You tell us what must never be clipped (in your brand form or with each upload), and we follow it.
7. Delivery, changes and approval
- For each clip you get the edited clip with captions and your ending, a cover image, and a light version for review. SRT caption files, square versions and editable project files are available on request; we quote them when you ask.
- Each delivery includes up to two rounds of changes. Fixing our own mistakes never counts as a round.
- Extra rounds cost, per clip: USD 5 (72-hour plan) or USD 10 (48-hour).
- If you don't review a delivery within 5 business days, the clips count as approved and the project closes.
- When every clip is approved, the project closes and we send you a folder with the final files.
8. Monthly plans
- Your plan sets a number of clips per month. Clips you don't use in a month carry over to the next month and expire at the end of it.
- Volume pricing: plans of 50 clips a month or more get 10% off every clip, and plans of 100 or more get 20% off. Volume pricing adds to the feature program discount.
- As a guide, a recording gives 5 to 8 good clips per hour. If you ask for more than the footage can give, we'll tell you before we start.
- You can cancel at any time before your next billing date. The month you already paid is not refunded, and we deliver its clips.
- If you cancel during your first month, you pay for the clips delivered up to that point. If your first payment covers more than that, we refund the difference, except the brand setup fee.
9. Ownership
- Once you have paid in full, the final clips are yours to use however you like.
- Our tools, templates, presets and working methods stay ours. Drafts and versions you did not approve stay ours, and we won't publish them.
10. Storage
- We keep your source footage for up to 30 days after delivery and then delete it.
- Your final files stay in your shared folder for at least 90 days after the project closes. Please download them.
11. Feature program (showing your clips)
- Only if you join the feature program do we show your clips on our website, social media and sales emails.
- You can veto any clip, and you can leave the program at any time; we then remove your clips. Discounts already applied are not refunded.
- Without the program, we never show your work publicly.
12. Confidentiality
We keep your footage, unpublished material and business information private, and use them only to do your work.
13. Liability
Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the month before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost revenue or reach. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes apply to work quoted after the update date; current monthly plans move to the new terms at their next billing date, and we'll email you first.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Argentina. Any dispute goes to the courts of the City of Buenos Aires.
